We recently welcomed three talented new colleagues in our team. Meet Alexander, Maja, and Joachim!
Alexander G. has a Master’s degree in biostatistics from ETH Zurich. He initially focused on human genetics, but shifted his focus after realizing that our microbiome, rather than our own genome, is likely to be a key driver of medical advancements in the future and key to unlocking the potential of personalized medicine. Alexander will be supporting our clients as microbiome scientist and consulting statistician.
Maja Plöger is joining our project management team. Maja has a Master’s degree in biology from University of Copenhagen and has worked as study coordinator at the Clinical Research Unit at Rigshospitalet, managing daily operations of over 100 clinical trials.
Joachim Johansen has a PhD in Biostatistics and Bioinformatics from the University of Copenhagen / Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Protein Research (NNFCPR), where he developed computational methods for studying the bacterial and viral kingdoms in metagenomics. During his PhD, Joachim was a visiting researcher at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard. Joachim is actually a familiar face, as he worked with us as a bioinformatics student assistant during his Master’s degree in 2018. He will work on further developing and expanding our computational metagenomics infrastructure as part of our innovation team.
We are proud to see our team growing and to be joined by such talented colleagues, who share our vision of a world where people are healthier because we understand how to improve our inner ecology – the microbiome.
Warm welcome to you all – we are excited to have you onboard!
